Christmas Presentation Night 2022

What a cracking night we had at the Hunting Lodge – fresh from the NECAA Championships in South Shields – celebrating our green and gold achievements from the 2021/22 season (don’t mention the football 😔).

It’s not all about being the fastest. Wallsend Harriers is a family, a team, and it’s as much about representing your club and giving it your all as it is about mega times and podium positions.

Here are this year’s winners. Congratulations to all the very worthy nominees and recipients. Be inspired everyone and let’s make 2023 an epic year for Wallsend Harriers!

Yes! Finally, a proper cross country! We had to wait until the end of October but it was the beautiful Lambton estate that delivered a good old mud-filled, hill fest that delighted as much as it appalled. Just the way it should be.

The GNR is over for another year, the days are feeling crisper and we’re all wondering how much longer we can last without putting the heating on. It must be time for cross country!

A very special Great North Run

Well this year’s Great North Run took on a very different tone this year, after the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. With the Great North 5k and both Mini and Junior Run postponed out of respect, it was touch and go whether GNR 2022 would even go ahead. But with tens of thousands of people turning up and millions being raised for charity, GNR announced it would remain in place in honour of her memory.

The second friendly Junior Quadrathlon took place on a very wet September evening. The event was put together with our friends at Blyth to ensure youngsters had the opportunity to compete during the summer months.
