Mason Stretesky wins the last WGP of the Season.

Magnificent Mason storms around the Cobalt course in a brilliant 19:00, not only winning the race but also topping the Stretesky’s battle. It was a tough race to win, with 11 runners beating their handicap times. Gill Weatherill finished 2nd and Keith O’Donnell 3rd. Fastest Male was Kevin Wilson finishing in 18:04, with Leanne Smith topping the ladies with a 21:16.

Well done to Matty Summers, for setting the u13 record on Tuesday night. With a time of 19.33. Great running Matty. I’ll amend the records time too on the next Grand Prix table (incorrectly states 19.00 instead of 19.33).

The overall Grand Prix title will go right down to the wire (see results here), with a battle between Kevin Wilson and Alan Heslington. A podium finish is possible all the way down to Nina Wilkinson in 8th, so there is still plenty to race for in the final Cross Country on Saturday.

A massive thank you to Nina, and Kevin Payne for officiating the race, excellent job guys!

Good luck to all those running at Wrekenton on Saturday, and apologies for the delayed upload. Watch this space for details of the Summer Grand Prix starting in May, with a special one off 5km bonus race!!! (Michael Day)

Toby 2016 – 30 is the magic number!

11891392_10207400792720819_5893291800254794351_oLast year’s Toby was a record breaking year. We knew we would reach £25,000 in total money raised for St Oswald’s Hospice over the last eight years but no one could have expected that we would far exceed it. Our final total for St Oswald’s is now just over £28,000! It was a proud moment in November 2015 when the club handed over a big cheque to St Oswald’s.

This year we’re doing it all again and we’re aiming for £30,000 in total money raised over the last nine years of the Toby. It also happens to be the 30th anniversary of St Oswald’s Hospice this year so £30,000 seems like a perfect figure to aim for!
