Following on from our Christmas Party earlier in December, we still have several unclaimed prizes from the raffle.

A festive reminder that the last club session of the year will be at Hadrian Leisure Centre on Thursday 19th December, reconvening on Tuesday 7th January 2020.
The last track session will be on Friday 20th December, reconvening on Friday 3rd January.
Over the seasonal holiday period Paddy will be hosting his infamous ‘xmas x-country session‘ on Saturday 21st December at East Cramlington Nature Reserve (NE23 6XS) at 12pm followed by drinks tbc. Keep an eye on Facebook for more details. There is very limited parking at the nature reserve so please car share where possible.
On Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24th Dec) Kevin will be taking a session if anyone fancies joining him. Meeting at 2pm by the cash machines at Sainsbury’s in West Monkseaton.
Don’t forget the New Year’s Day Grand Prix! A great way to start the new year as you mean to go on. Start time is 10.45am prompt from Centurion Golf Club in Wallsend, so plenty of time to sleep off your hangover! Junior race starts at 10.30am.
The North East Harrier League XC series continues on Saturday 4th January with the popular Sherman Cup at Temple Park in South Shields. More details here. It would be great to see lots of green and golds out for this one.
2020 marks the club’s centenary year so lots to look forward to next year.

The final Grand Prix race of 2019 was signed off in fine style tonight with our Doug Bramley Trophy up for grabs.
There was no clear favourite after the handicaps had been vetted numerous times (not doing the handicappers already poor reputation any favours).
It was going to take a breakout performance to win and my oh my did we get it….

The season opening Winter Grand Prix got off to a flyer at Cobalt tonight.
Our juniors were out in force making up 14 of the 44 competitors at the start line, on a perfect night for running. They certainly let their presence be known at the sharp end of the results, taking the top 2 spots, with 5 overall in the top 10.
However there could be only one winner and young Elena tore round the 5k course to finish in 27:42 (23:02 actual), 30 seconds ahead of her closest rival.

On Sunday prior to the race, it doesn’t matter if you’re donning our legendary Green and Gold colours, a charity vest or even fancy dress – if you’re a Wallsend Harrier you need to be in our GNR team photo.
