Green and golds ‘spring’ into action

Another weekend, another action packed two days for the Green and Golds on tour!

Spring may not feel as though it is in the air but our Wallsend Harriers certainly sprung into action on a mid-March weekend.

We had our fantastic juniors giving it their all at the North Eastern County Pentathlon at Gateshead Stadium. PBs were smashed in most events and Daniel Broderick won a silver medal in the overall competition! Full results here.

And at the National Schools Championships in Norwich Sam Charlton came fourth in the Northumberland teams (the first three were a year older than him too!) representing his school, club and county!

                                    Kris Stobbs ran Locke Park 20 (miler!) in Redcar and finished 8th in an impressive 2hrs 16 mins! Fantastic.

Congratulations to Joe Colligan, James Hardie, Sam Proud, Marie Collinson and John Dodds on completing Kirkley Half Marathon. Kevin Hood and Matt the Tash flew the flag at Thirsk 10 miler.

And gutsy ladies Anna French, Julie Collinson and Jude Smith. And Andy Clark(!) took on the brutal Thrunton Thriller half marathon and conquered!

Well done everyone. You’ve done your club very proud.
