Farringdon X-Country Relays
As the summer begins to fade there is one thing we can look forward to on the autumnal horizon, oh yes, it’s x-country season people! And on Saturday 2nd September we had Farringdon relays to wet our appetite.
It might have been warm and dry but the course did not disappoint with a muckle stream to wade/leap/jump across and hills galore.
We had two women’s teams and two men’s, each team member doing a 1.8m leg. Laura Firth was hero of the day, stepping in for the injured Erin (get well soon) at the last minute and bagging her and her fellow team mates (Donna Thompson and Emily J) third vets prize! Mish, Christine S and Sarah Graham gave it their all.
Over to the men after that. In the senior men’s team (an admirable 8th) we had Andy Graham, Kris Stobbs, Darren Flynn and Denver S. Men’s vets was Andy Wigmore, Alan Heslington, Brian Roberston and Paul Stretesky, who came 14th (cracking job).

A massive thanks to all who turned out to make up the teams, it’s what it’s all about. The supporters were much appreciated. And don’t forget the first Harrier League X-Country meet is at Wrekenton on Saturday 30th September. Get your spikes on Green and Golds!
