Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that the Great North Run is an iconic North East event.
On Sunday prior to the race, it doesn’t matter if you’re donning our legendary Green and Gold colours, a charity vest or even fancy dress – if you’re a Wallsend Harrier you need to be in our GNR team photo.
Tuesday 11 September will be the last training session at the Rising Sun for this year. Tuesday sessions will then move back to Hadrian Leisure at the usual time (6.20pm for a 6.30pm start).
Well Done to Graham Armstrong for holding on to the top spot and taking the coveted Summer Grand Prix Trophy. Needing only 33 points in Wednesday’s Quayside 5km, Graham took no chances and scored the maximum 50 points. On a fast 5k race, half of the Wallsend Harriers banked the max. Including Kevin Wilson, going sub-17 and climbing three places into second, with Andy Wigmore holding third.

A fantastic 121 runners took part in this year’s series, thank you to each and everyone of you donning the Green and Gold vest.
Watch this space for WGP 18-19 fixtures.
Thanks
Gary
